Is Discseel® Right for You?

What Causes Chronic Neck and Back Pain?

Much chronic spine pain traces back to the discs themselves:

These issues can lead to:

Stiffness and reduced mobility

Radiating pain into your shoulders, arms, hips, or legs

Chronic discomfort that doesn’t resolve with rest or medication

A woman standing outdoors with both hands pressed to her lower back

The DISCSEEL® Procedure — A Non-Surgical Approach to Disc Repair

Unlike spinal surgery or long-term medication, the DISCSEEL® Procedure is a minimally invasive outpatient procedure that uses a fibrin sealant to treat injured, herniated, or bulging discs. Fibrin is FDA-approved for other surgical uses; its use inside the spinal disc is off-label and is not an FDA-approved indication.

Off-label use of an approved biologic is legal and common in medicine. There is minimal downtime, and most patients can return to their normal activities within days.

How the Procedure Works

Target the Source

MRIs often miss the real cause of spine pain. We use advanced diagnostic injections and a proprietary Annulogram™ test to locate even the smallest disc tears, in the neck or the lower back.

Seal the Tears

Once identified, we inject fibrin sealant directly into the damaged discs to close the tears and support the disc’s own healing.

Quick Recovery

The entire procedure is done in under an hour. You’ll rest for about 30 minutes post-treatment and can typically return to activity the next day.

Why Not Just Get a Fusion?

Spinal fusion permanently joins two vertebrae, which shifts load onto the discs above and below — a pattern clinicians call adjacent segment disease.

How Discseel® differs

A fusion removes motion at the treated level permanently, and cannot be undone.

The DISCSEEL® Procedure does not fuse and does not restrict motion at the treated level, and it does not rule out a fusion later if you and your physician decide you need one.

Unlike fusions or artificial discs, the DISCSEEL Procedure does not damage adjacent discs.

The DISCSEEL® Procedure by the Numbers

Over 12,500 procedures performed. Patients are back on their feet within 24 hours. Performed on patients with previous failed spinal procedures, such as spinal fusion.

Kevin Pauza, MD

Inventor of the DISCSEEL Procedure.

An internationally recognized authority on spine disc biologics and interventional spine therapies, Dr. Pauza has dedicated his life to helping others find relief from chronic pain.

After seeing thousands of patients who failed to experience relief after spine surgery, Dr. Pauza developed the DISCSEEL Procedure, a minimally invasive outpatient procedure.

The DISCSEEL Procedure uses fibrin, a biologic that is FDA-approved for other surgical uses, to seal annular tears — a major source of disc pain. Its use inside the disc is off-label. Dr. Pauza is the first physician to pursue FDA approval for biologics to treat the spine.

“If you’ve suffered with pain for so long that you’ve almost forgotten what it’s like to live an enjoyable life without pain, then please reach out to us, because this is what we help.  My focus is to identify the precise source of your symptoms and treat you, so that you can get back to the life you once enjoyed.”
